If you bet that a team will win by such a margin, but they win by one goal less than your choice indicated. How asian odds work
The primary market of Asian odds is in the betting by results. This variation offers numerous options. Let us explain some of them. The simplest is when betting on handicap ‘0’. This option is the same as the ‘no draw,’ or as it is also known, the Draw no Bet (DNB). In case of a win for the selected team, the selection is won, as well as the amount bet is returned in case of a draw and lost in case of a defeat. The same applies here for bets on -1, -2, and so on, where the bet will be won if the team reaches the handicap, and if it “ties” with it, the amount is also returned.
When the option ‘0/-0.5’ is chosen, a new factor comes into play. If the selected team wins by any score, the bet is won. Half your stake is returned in the event of a draw, and the other half is won. In other words, half of what you would have won in the event of a win is returned. If the chosen team loses, the amount is lost.
From this point onwards, the allocation of the advantage comes into question again. In option ‘-0.5/1’, the bet is won in full only if the team wins by two goals or more. If the team chosen triumphs with only one goal more than the rival, half the stake is returned, and the other half is multiplied by the odds value, i.e., half the profit you would have if the bet won. In the event of a draw or defeat, the selection is lost. After that, the system is always the same, alternating between ‘-1/1.5’, ‘-1.5/2’, and so on.

Although the most popular form of Asian odds betting is related to the outcome of a match, it is not the only one. Another market much sought after by punters, after all, is the Asian goal handicap. It works similarly to what has been explained above, with options that fully return the amount invested depending on the number of goals in a game and others that half is returned. Half is multiplied by the odds, generating profit for the bettor.
Although less common in European bookmakers, it is also possible to find some Asian odds for corner and card statistics.
